Views Of Japan In The Chinese Discussion

After the 1898 coup,Liang Qichao and others fled to Japan to accumulate power for the future development and growth of the reformers.Liang Qichao and others initiated and founded the journal named The China Discussion in Yokohama,Japan,which became the public opinion position for oversea reformers after the 1898 coup.The description of Japan in The China Discussion mainly consisted of collected translations and argumentation.By reviewing the contents and characteristics of the reports concerned Japan and commentary on Japan in argumentations in The China Discussion(From December,1898 to November,1901),this paper reviews the development of Japan from which to analyze the reformers ’ view of Japan after the failure of the 1898 coup.The main structure of the paper is as follows:The introduction analyzes the study background and current research on The China Discussion.The first part is to sort out and analyze the contents concerned Japan in The China Discussion.The second part researches and analyzes the reports concerned Japan,respectively.The third part makes a vertical comparison of understanding to Japan in The China Discussion.The fourth part draws specific conclusions on the understanding to Japan in The China Discussion.
