| The rapid development and widespread of new technology has led to the integration of multimedia in language courses as an auxiliary teaching tool.This has encouraged us to leave behind the traditional and monotonous teaching methodology and to embrace the new opportunities that multimedia has brought us.In the last few years,we have seen new ways to learn languages:distance lessons through Skype and Zoom,language Applications such as Duolingo,and even embracing Virtual Reality Technologies(VR)to provide students a real and authentic learning environment.The ever-modernization in teaching methodology has led to further developments in Chinese teaching.This has become a popular topic among researchers.With the rapid development of new technology,we have seen the "unlimited" possibilities that Educational Video Games have provided in the teaching area.Nevertheless,the research and application of 3D Video Games in Language Learning is hitherto at their first steps.This work is based on theories to create an efficient Video Game to learn Chinese,with the attempt to change the wrong idea society has concerning Video Games;and to let them see the new opportunities these are offering in language acquisition.This paper will go through a deep research and analysis of questionnaires and interviews;searching for a harmonious integration of Video Games in Chinese teaching,in order to find the balance between "learning"and "entertaining".Students will improve their Chinese oral skills and perform Chinese Culture with joy.This video game is based on the textbook "Road to success",it is aiming at beginners and it will used as an after class practice tool.The author hopes to create a Game-based Teaching model and to design an Educational Video Game for Chinese learners,to help in further developments of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. |
