The Party members are the basic unit and basic composition of the Party organizations.The development of the Party members among students of higher education institutions is an important part of the development of the Party members.Over the years,the Party organizations at various levels in colleges and universities in Shanxi province has been continually doing a good job in the development,training,and management of the Party members among students,absorbing a large number of young students to join the Party organization.Strong impetus has been added to the construction and development of the Party.Viewed from the overall situation at present,Shanxi province enjoys a good momentum in the development of the Party members among students in higher education institutions.But in recent years,with the expansion of the Party members and the change in the situation within the Party and across the world,the development of the Party members among college students is also faced with some new problems and challenges.Some grassroots Party organizations in colleges and universities failed to go through the procedures in developing the Party members in a standard manner and failed to honor the requirements in a strict manner,resulting in the joining of the Party by those college students with private interests who view the Party admission as a realistic condition for personal development.In some grassroots Party organization,the education and training methods for student Party members have been single ad have become a mere formality,in particular,there has been a lack of education in ideals and beliefs,resulting in the lack of historic sense and all-sidedness in the recognition of the social realities of the student Party members.They do not have a very profound understanding and a deep feeling towards the Party,and they they have limited knowledge of the Party history and the Party members' rights and duties.Some even misunderstand the Party.Some unhealthy social tendencies make their appearances in someindividual institutions of higher education with some students joining the Party through pulling votes and bribing their counselors.All the problems have seriously affected the development of the Party members in colleges and universities.It has become questions that need urgent solutions that how to standardize the Party member development procedures in a strict manner,how to correct the motivations of college students in Shanxi province in joining the Party,how to control the quality of the Party members from the origin,and how to establish the long-term mechanisms in cultivating and educating the Party members.Only with a correct analysis of these problems and contradictions,and with solutions and countermeasures to solve the problems,can we do a better job in the development of the Party members,in selecting the excellent backbones in colleges and universities with good morality and professional competence,in consistently improving the team quality of the student Party members in colleges and universities,and in laying a solid foundation for the smooth development of the Party's undertakings.
