The elementary Chinese courses in South Korea's senior high school represent the major channel that how the students learn Chinese. These elementary Chinese courses are the basis and core for teaching Chinese to Speakers Of Other Language in Korea. The Korea's senior high school pays the same attention to "listening, speaking, reading and writing" in their Chinese classes. Students will get to understand the Chinese cultures during their studying. The teachers will guide the students to derive the Chinese culture and history from the Chinese studies. Therefore, the students are normally attracted by the tradition during the teaching when we use Chinese as the communication method. The Korea's high school students are interested in Chinese Cultures, however, they are also obsessed with the popular culture, if the teachers can take the advantages of the popular culture in this kind of background, we may active the atmosphere and increase the motivation for learning Chinese, which will contribute to improve the efficiency on the class. In this way, the students will be acquainted with Chinese with greater interests.This thesis aims to discuss the tactics research when introduction the popular trend in Chinese courses in South Korea's senior high school, which will bring more convenience in elementary Chinese in South Korea's high schoolThis thesis consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction; it will discuss the background and the significance of this topic as well as the definition of the current research status domestic and abroad, theory writings and popular culture.The second chapter is the necessity and the possibility when applicating the popular culture in South Korea's elementary Chinese courses. The necessity of application of popular culture requires transforming pop culture. Teaching Chinese to foreigners requires a multiple teaching method, which is good to enhance the content and have more interests on Chinese. Possibility includes that the rapid development in China has already provided possibilities to make the popular culture to become studying materials. The teaching atmosphere in South Korea has also been a supportive pillar to import multiple fashion factors to be presented in Chinese lessons.This chapter three mainly focus on the major principles when citing the popular culture in Korea's Chinese courses and will list examples to analyze. There are totally four principles regarding the popular culture, which are pragmatism, popularity, interestingness and timeliness. This Chinese courses in Korea's high school is divided by four sessions. The first is new lessons guidance, next is to master the new words, then Chinese grammar learning, the last part is Chinese culture integration and workshop activities. This chapter will indicate the actual strategy and principles when applying the popular culture in the Chinese courses. This chapter will set the Yonin high school of Gyeonggi Province in Korea as an example to discuss the method and the strategies and give actual advices by using praxis cases to prove it. This thesis has combines the questionnaire and statistics and the analysis result. The questionnaire aims at the senior high school students in Korea and gives analysis and data statistics. This chapter will also discuss the possible methods and strategies with reliable results when citing the popular culture in Chinese lessons in Korea's high school.The chapter four mainly focuses on some advice when citing the popular trend in Chinese courses in Korea's high school. There are totally three points. The first is all the material must be comply with the actual teaching content. The second is the selected popular culture materials must have a broad acceptance among the students. The third is we must consider the interestingness when selecting training materials which will support the teachers to draw the attention from the students.The Chapter five is the summary. This thesis will summarize the mail points.
