In the process of changing and development of society and history, migration is not only a natural phenomenon, but also a social economic phenomenon, and it has a certain inevitability and long-term. With the establishment of the socialist market economic system and the beginning of the household registration system is loose, China's floating population began to increase sharply. The wave is not only affected southeast coastal economically developed provinces and Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other first-tier cities, but also including the social and economic development is relatively backward in the northwest and other regions. Lanzhou city as one of the central city in northwest China, its floating population is increasing. As an example, to know the northwest region and even the whole country of the floating population of the city space evolution law has a good effect “window”. Thus, in this paper, we based on the Lanzhou city's census of points street in 2000 and 2010, spatial correlation analysis and regression analysis were used, then combined with ArcGIS10.0 and SPSS software. The spatial pattern evolution characteristics, influencing factors, social effects and coping strategies of the floating population in Lanzhou city were analyzed systematically. The results show:(1) The mobility of the population is increasing day by day in Lanzhou, especially the population outflow. Its growth rate is not only faster and more than the growth rate of the total population. In which, Qilihe district of weak liquidity and Chengguan, Xigu and Anning District matched. The growth rate of the floating population in each district is in response to the growth rate of the total population. The outflow of the block and the inflow of the population and the total population changes are basically the same. That is to say, less populated neighborhoods, its total population growth is slow, and vice versa.(2) The scale of city floating population is relatively large and the growth trend is obvious, the number of municipal districts is significantly different and the street population gap is further expanded; The density changes significantly, the spatial pattern of eastern dense and western sparse is broken and the “low-high-low” circle structure appears; Agglomeration of the center of gravity moves from east to west and south to north and the fragmentation pattern appears; The social structure evolves from “relative isolation” to “relative fusion”, the Chengguan district of fusion is the fastest and the Qilihe district is the slowest. The spatial correlation is more obvious, the phenomenon of agglomeration is gradually weakened and the spatial form continues to balanced development.(3) From the three aspects of population, economy and society, the influence factors and influence degree are analyzed, and two time sections are different and tend to be diverse and complex. In which, the employment levels, the economic base and the level of urbanization have a promoted effect and the population factor has the inhibition effect, but the living standard has no obvious influence on the population.(4) The social effect of floating population is positive and negative in two aspects, positive effect and negative effect. At the same time, in view of the negative effect we put forward 4 aspects of coping strategies. They are innovation management system, strengthen social security; adjust the industrial layout, improve the market mechanism; improve the quality of the population, build a civilized city; optimize the urban environment, enhance the image of the city.
