As important cultural trends in modern history,Chinese modern nationalism has played an important role in promoting changes in social structure.Although theory research on nationalism at home and abroad is very rich,it has not been well used in practice in middle school history education.Moreover,the reflection and reference on modern nationalism itself helps to deal with the hot issues in today's society.And then,social harmony can not be separated from the unity of all nationalities.Only by identifying the differences among tvarious ethnic groups can we handle ethnic relations properly.In this paper,the author studies the language expression of the content of the textbook according to the previous academic research,and expects that students can cultivate values of rational nationalism when grasping the development of modern history.This paper includes six aspects.In part one,the author of this paper expresses the background,purpose and meaning of the topic,the status,innovations and methods of the study,and also reviews Chinese and foreign studies on nationalism and the application in history teaching.In the second part,the author analyzes and interpretes nationalism and its closely related concepts according to the academic and theoretical research,locates and sums up the role that Chinese modern nationalism plays.In part three,the author interpretes the necessity of language expression in textbooks in modern nationalism according to the history curriculum standard in senior high school and presents the important educational value of modern nationalism in high school.In part four,the author mainly studies the contents of Chinese modern nationalism in the history textbooks pressed by People's Education Press and puts forward personal views and suggestions in the specific teaching practice.Part five is about how to understand the development of Chinese modern nationalism theory in the history classroom,and how to help teachers cultivate students' awareness of nationalism.In part six,the author shows what should we pay attention to when dealing with the concepts of nationalism.At the same time,this paper also points out that it is a long-term process to cultivate the values of middle school students' rational values of nationalism,which needs teachers to improve their professionalism of teachers,to use different teaching methods and ways to creat history scene with which to enhance the education of middle school students' national outlook and to meet the requirements of the times.
