With the abundance of e-sports game projects,the establishment of several famous esports club,the diversification of formal large-scale competition system,the expansion of industrial chain and business model,the e-sports industry has been developed in a blowout.E-sports gradually attracted a lot of media attention,e-sports players which as the main body of e-sports have become a "darling" and focus of the media reports.This paper takes the media image of e-sports athletes in www.people.com.cn as the research object,and uses the case research method,the content analysis method and the text analysis method.It explores the media's image types of the e-sports players,the problem of the image construction and changes.Then analyze its internal causes.This research shows that the people's network presents e-sports players media image are: dream catchers,contradictions,troubled teens,athletic performers.There exists the transition process from the "single portrait" to "diversification",from "heterogeneous" to "rectification" in the content.The reason of this image is interaction of political discourse and economic discourse,meanwhile,influenced by cultural context,and is resisted and collected by the mainstream culture.Media as a public awareness of the world,should adhere to the objective,threedimensional,comprehensive reporting principles,and adhere to the responsibility-oriented and event-oriented combination of the construction path.
