Correct learning attitude is the premise of effective learning.It can benefit students at different levels of schools in diverse course learning,for example,the attitude of biological learning.In order to further study the learning attitude of middle school students in China towards biology now.We set 9 middle schools as samples in Liaocheng,a city of Shandong province.They are Liaocheng NO.1 High School,Liaocheng NO.3 High School,Chiping NO.1 High School,Donge NO.1 High School.Guanxian NO.1 High School,Gaotang NO.1 High School,Yanggu NO.1 High School,ShenxianNO.1 High School,Linqing NO.1 High School respectively.The questionnaire,interview,literature and statistical analysis were used as the researching methods in the study on the relationships between the attitude towards biology learning at high school and the residence of student,the educational background of the students' parents,and students' academic record.The survey data are analyzed by the means of SPSS19.0 system.The reasonable suggestions were get from the study for biological teaching at high school in Liaocheng.The questionnaire of the study was set base on the ATBS questionnaire,tools of attitude measurement in CLASS biological science and physical learning interest scale questionnaire by Hu Xiangling.The questionnaires can be divided in 3 categories: cognition,affection and behavioral tendency.The analysis of the questionnaires and the SPSS software used in this research showed that cognition was at the highest level,affection was at the higher level than behavioral tendency.This data indicated that the cognition of student of biology learning is correct.However the behavioral tendency should be paid attention.The results of this study were as follows:(1)The attitude towards biology is related to the place of residence.The students living in town usually have a better learning attitude toward biology than the rural students.There was significantly different.(2)There is also a positive correlation between students' attitude towards biological learning and their parents' educational background.The students with higher learning attitude have parents with better educational background.The students with lower learning attitude have parents with weak educational background.(3)There is a positive correlation between students' attitude towards biology learning and students' biology learning achievement.The attitude towards biology learning of the students with excellent academic achievement are better than that of the students with lower grades.The attitude towards biology learning of senior high school was related to the place of students' residence,the educational background of their parents,and students' achievement of biology.The formation of right attitude towards biology learning needed the cooperation of teachers,parents,and schools.Teachers should have the newest ideas on education and the right attitude towards teaching.It was important to pay more attention to the first biological class and education of emotion and value.Parents should set a suitable environment in family.A good example should be set by parents which could guide the kids to learn.Schools should provide the suitable facilities for teaching and learning,such as scientific and technological activities,creative environment.
