With the development of exploration, more and more complex areas about the mountain have become the focus of work. The Permian heavy oil research in Flaming Mountain of TuHa Basin is a typical deep exploration. The breakthrough of drilling in the Wutonggou stratum in the past two years has set off the upsurge once again. However, the exploration is facing the complex geological conditions on surface and underground. In this article, we ensure the quality of seismic data through the integrated ideas. On this basis, we take the whole research and whole understanding as the guiding thought, and carry out the whole area reservoir anatomy. Under the support of fine structural interpretation technology, the stratigraphic distribution law is accurately implemented, and the regional structure and fracture characteristics are characterized. And the distribution characteristics of reservoirs are determined by using various types of reservoir prediction techniques. The characteristics of sedimentary reservoirs are clarified. We combine with source rock and evolution analysis to study the patterns of heavy oil accumulation. Through the whole reservoir anatomy, it is revealed that the fault is one of the main controlling factors of Permian reservoir,. It can be said that the fracture is the key to reservoir, and the favorable reservoir is a necessary factor of reservoir. Therefore, there are three types of oil reservoirs in the Permian reservoir of Flaming Mountains, such as fault block, stratigraphy and lithology, which is controlled by the strata occurrence and the favorable facies. The section 1 of Wutonggou Formation is dominated by structural reservoirs of bottom water and fault block, but section 2 and 3 of Wutonggou formation are dominated by stratigraphic oil reservoir. After the generation of the hydrocarbon generation center, the reservoirs in the area migrates along a large set of sand and conglomerate in the Wutonggou formation, and adjusts along the fault from north to South and from west to East. Finally oil forms in the plane of the lithology, fault block and stratigraphic trap in the section 1 to 3 of Wutonggou formation. And the high quality sand body near by the source is the next key direction of exploration.
