As one of the rapidly nondestructive testing technology, spectroscopy can obtain physicochemical properties and deep structure information, contributing its wide application in scientific research, environmental monitoring, biomedical diagnosis and other scientific and industry fields. However, most of the current spectrum detection technology are restricted by measuring principle and detection mode, with the disadvantages of little field of view, low optical throughput and complicated structure. We present a Fourier transform spectroscopy based on polarization interference in this paper.A polarization interference imaging scheme based Wollaston prism and cube corner retroreflector is proposed and a large field of view and high throughput static spectral measurement system is researched.A new spectral imaging mechanism base on the polarization interference is firstly researched. The interference imaging method with virtual infinity is presented and theoretical analysis is taken for features of large field of view and high throughput, also the relationship between optical path difference(OPD)and spectral resolution. Then the whole scheme of the system is designed. The accurate formula for interfered OPD is obtained with the method of ray tracing in birefringent crystal, and during this the OPD nonlinearity is analyzed. After that, the nonlinear spectral recovery is researched, where theoretical and simulation analysis of non-uniform Fourier transform based on fast Gaussian gridding is studied and wavenumber sampling equation of the optical path squeezing interferometry is analyze. At last,a set of experimental device is set up.The spectral calibration and spectral detection experiment of the LED illuminant are carried out.The experimental result is basically consistent with the result from Ocean Optics spectrometer, verifying the validity and feasibility of our principle and method.Hence the research results show that the Fourier transform spectroscopy based on polarization interference is able to realize nanometer resolution spectral measurement with large field of view and high optical throughput.
