Compared with the traditional 2D GIS,3D GIS has powerful spatial analysis ability,and it can display the spatial data information directly,truly,and visually;Among them,three-dimensional,three-dimensional GIS of the Internet interaction has gradually become the most important development direction and research focus in the field of GIS.Especially in the network environment,more and more scholars pay more attention to the realization of 3D visualization of spatial data,Compared with the two-dimensional data,the data volume of three-dimensional spatial data is larger and wider,it includes a large number of urban models,terrain,image,texture,vector data and its attribute data and so on,consequently,the publication of their network has become one of the hotspots in this field.Liyuan hydropower station and Changsha Zhongnan survey and Design Institute act as the experimental area,Design and implementation of Web three dimensional geographic information system of the two areas based on Skyline platform.The main contents of this paper are as following:1?According to system requirements,the acquisition technique and data processing method of multi view image,orthophoto,DEM,texture image,vector data and attribute data needed to construct 3D GIS,are described.2?Using Skyline modeling method to build the 3D scene of Liyuan Hydropower Station,using the technology of oblique photography to build three-dimensional scene of Changsha Zhongnan Survey Institute.By contrasting and analysing two modeling techniques,reflect their advantages and disadvantages in their respective areas.3?Using TerraExplorer secondary develop COM interface and ActiveX control,via scripting language to design and implement Web three dimensional geographic information system of the two areas.Internet environment to achieve several functions like three-dimensional scene operation and browsing.Information editing and query,spatial analysis and user management.4?Implement the network publishing of massive vector data,attribute data,model data and 3D terrain data sets of the two areas by means of TerraGate and IIS.So that users can browse and visit the 3D scene anywhere in the network environment.
