In our daily life,due to the presence of bacteria and viruses,which can directly leads to the emergence of many diseases.So safe,non-toxic,non-polluting antibacterial products have became the demands of consumers.Zinc-type antimicrobial materials,with the advantages of stable performance and low cost,are imperfect in antibacterial capability,which can be enhanced by means of modification.In this paper,a novel zinc-cerium antibacterial white carbon black was successfully synthesised via a sol-gel method and used as an excellent antibacterial material,in which white carbon black as the carrier,zinc ions as antibacterial ions,rare earth elements cerium as additives.The optimum preparation conditions were obtained by single factor tests and response surface method.The antibacterial material was characterised by SEM,EDS,XPS,BET,ICP,and AAS,and antibacterial experiments(Escherichia coli).Discuss synergistic antibacterial properties of metal ions and rare earth elements cerium.Further,the zinc-cerium antimicrobial white carbon black is added to the ceramic as an antibacterial material,and antibacterial ceramics with antibacterial properties are prepared.The results show that the optimum conditions for the preparation of zinc-cerium antimicrobial materials are as follows:the concentration of zinc ions is 0.83 mol·L-1,the concentration of cerium ions is 0.005 mol·L-1,and the reaction time is 1.6 h.The SEM and EDS images exhibited the structure of the zinc-cerium antibacterial white carbon black was puffed and amorphous;the particle sizes were small,uniform in distribution.The BET analysis shows that the specific surface area of zinc-cerium antimicrobial white carbon black is larger twice than that of pure white carbon black,more advantageously added to the product as an additive.XPS analysis showed that zinc oxide and cerium oxide were supported on white carbon black.By calculation,synergistic effect factor SEF>0,and the synergistic coefficient T/E=1.89>1,which indicate that there is a significant synergistic effect between zinc and cerium.There is a significant synergistic effect between zinc and cerium due to the addition of rare earth cerium to promoted the release and load of antimicrobial zinc ions,thus enhancing the antibacterial properties.Applied research shows that the addition of antimicrobial powder material is considered to be the main factor affecting the antibacterial properties of antimicrobial ceramics and the addition of zinc-cerium antimicrobial powder mateial was 12.9%(1.25 g),the antimicrobial activity of antimicrobial ceramics was the best,and the antibacterial rate was 45.98%.
