Objective: Development of TCM QOL in chronic liver disease, and investigated the QOL from four aspects, feasibility, reliability, validity, responsiveness. The scale will be used to evaluate the clinical efficacy of chronic liver disease to understand their whole health condition, furthermore to help doctors to make clinical treatment plan and medication?Methods: The clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine liver disease rating scale theoretical models is established, referring to the development of internationally accepted scale procedural method and the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine in liver Viscera physiological functions and features, combined with patient-reported outcomes(patient-reported outcomes, PRO).A research team was set up through establishment of an entry pool, development primaries scale, language debugging, pre-clinical investigation and preliminary clinical questionnaire form. In clinical pilot study,400 effective questionnaires was recovered. The results of the survey were system analysised to filtrate entries to form a formal investigation scale by discrete trend method(coefficient of variation), stepwise regression analysis, discriminant analysis, Cronbach's coefficient, factor analysis and other statistical methods.And the final scale items were scientific evaluation from four aspects,feasibility analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis to determine their scientific, practicability and maneuverability.Results:A TCM QOL of 55 entries in chronic liver disease was developed containing three areas namely physiological field(24 entries), psychological field(5 entries) and social relations(26 entries).Conclusion: The TCM QOL in chronic liver disease is operability and repeatability, worthy of further examination and extended to clinical application.
