“Qin School Erhu”, which originated and developed in Xi'an Conservatory of Music, is considered as the most influential Erhu school with the fastest development. Since its first recruitment of postgraduates in 1987, Xi'an Conservatory of Music has been providing a vital academic platform for the theoretical study of “Qin School Erhu”. By 2015, there had been 23 master theses studying “Qin School Erhu”. Generally speaking, these theses fall into the following categories: comprehensive study, figure study, works study, creation study, style study, technique study, aesthetic study and teaching study. Xi'an Conservatory of Music has been the dominant place to develop and study “Qin School Erhu”, and in recently years, research on “Qin School Erhu” is especially heated among postgraduates majoring Erhu. Therefore, the author of this paper deems it is of great necessity to summarize and classify these research papers written by postgraduates. Based on the effort above, the author of this paper suggests master theses in the future should give priority to comparison study, teaching study, figure study and works study. By doing so, people will have a deeper understanding of “Qin School Erhu” and the theoretical foundation of “Qin School Erhu” will be made more systematic and comprehensive.
