American Lawyers Who Are Faithful To The Principle Of Simultaneous Interpretation

Based on the principle of fidelity,the thesis is written to help interpreters to implement strategies for the simultaneous interpretation during the cross-examination,via the excerptions around cross-examination from three American movies.Considering different opinions of interpreters and translators from different times,the writer holds that interpreters should give the priority to the principle of fidelity,which is the true meaning of original speakers.Interpreters are not supposed to be constraint by the literal meaning transferring the statement from original speakers,who are always known as attorneys during cross-examinations.Interpreters are obliged to hold the principle of fidelity,when facing many obstacles and difficulties.In order to solve those problems,the writer uses the preparation,syntactic linearity,paraphrasing,direct interpretation,addition and reduction to maximize the completeness of the conveyed information and to hold the principle of fidelity.Strategies above are of great help to improve the quality of simultaneous interpretation in cross-examinations and of vital significance for interpreters to complete the mission better.
