The Spread And Development Of Film Art In Qingdao (1897-1966)

Qingdao is a city referred to as the “City of Film and Television”.Though only established over a hundred years ago,Qingdao has a similar age as the history of film.Although Qingdao has never had a film studio in the history,and professional film and TV educational institutions only appeared after the 21 st century,Qingdao has emerged a lot of film artists.For example,Hong Shen,Sun Yu,Cui Wei and other important people in film history had various connections with Qingdao,and a large number of famous films have been produced in Qingdao.This paper discussed the spread and development of the film industry in Qingdao area from 1897 to 1966,from multiple angles of culture and development.In the chronological order,this paper is divided into four chapters,which are(1)occurrence and development of film broadcasting industry in Qingdao(1897-1937),(2)early stage of film capture and production in Qingdao(1920-1937),(3)a special period in Qingdao film history(1937-1949),and(4)Qingdao film in the early days after the founding of the People’s Republic of China(1949-1966).Film is an integrated art,and also a cultural product for public entertainment.In addition to separately describing the spread and creation of the film,this paper tried to explain the interaction and influence between the film spread and creation,the development of film culture,and other issues.Through narratives and discourses,the author tried to find the necessity that,it is a natural result Qingdao became the “City of Film and Television” due to various opportunities,timing and development.
