AI Zhongxin is an outstanding representative of the second generation of oil painters in China,and is also one of the pioneers in the integration of Chinese and Western oil painting language.In his artistic creation,he paid attention to sketching,emphasizing observation and advocating artistic creation.In the process of promoting the nationalization of oil painting language,it emphasizes that the special oil painting should not be lost.The nationalization of oil painting language should be embodied in the ideological and emotional and spiritual qualities,and the expression of the artistic conception of painting embodies the understanding of the students,and then presents a kind of artistic features both in China and the West within the realistic painting category.AI Zhongxin’s oil painting scene is poetic and simple,and Li Keran describes it as Chinese oil painting.Mr.Xu Beihong calls it the melody of Beijing.The artistic creation of AI Zhongxin can be divided into three stages:the lyric landscape of the last 40-50 years,the large theme creation of the 50--60 years,and more of the writing heart and emotion after the 1970.Mainly from 40 to 60s of last century,it played a pioneering role in promoting the development of Chinese oil painting and the combination of traditional Chinese culture.By combing the changes of the three stages of AI Zhongxin oil painting from 50s to 90s of last century,this paper analyzes the artistic features of the Chinese andWestern works,and summarizes the contribution made by AI Zhongxin to the development of oil painting in China.
