The left-behind children in rural areas are special groups which appear in our country during the economic transitional period.As their parents are forced into the cities to make a living during the whole year,some of their grandparents become the guardians in their daily life.While most of the grandparents in rural areas are lack of education,what they can teach their grandchildren is quite limited.Therefore,it's fairly necessary to improve the level of family education between the grandparents and grandchildren.At present,the problem of family education of the left-behind children in rural areas has aroused wide attention in academia.But the research subject is mainly aimed at the left-behind children in rural areas,and the research of the inter-generational guardians is quite rarely.Some studies have focused on pedagogy,sociology and psychology,and as a new discipline that focuses on social issues,there is little research on social work in this field.Thus,it is of great significance to explore the promotion of family education from the perspective of social work.In this study,we conducted a questionnaire survey on the left-behind children and their guardians and village cadres in Tianyu Town,Qingyuan District,Ji'an City,Jiangxi Province,and conducted interviews with the left-behind children in rural areas from the perspective of social work.The author analyzes the current guardians' situation of family education,and points out that there are problems such as spoiling children,neglecting thoughts and neglecting children's growth.According to the further analysis,the author finds that it's the result of the poor method of family education,as well as the inappropriate resource utilization and communication coordination.In view of this situation,based on the strength perspective theory this study involved community work and case work to improve the situation.At the community level,the author tries different ways to stimulate the learning initiative of the inter-generational guardians and to teach methods and techniques to help them establish a good family education concept,such as to develop volunteers,organize "Improving Class" and establish the "Column of Inter-generational Guardians".While at the individual and family level,relying on the ecosystem and empowerment theory we carry out case work services to help sub-guardians to establish confidence and improve resource utilization,as well as achieve sustainable energy.Research shows that the intervention of social work in the improvement of theinter-generational guardians' family educational level is effective.The study not only expands the method and techonology of the inter-generational guardians,but also develops the level of professional services.what's more,it gathers the volunteers,social workers and the community together to help the inter-generational guardians to improve their family educational level.
