With mastering the basis conditions of organic-rich shale's developed layers, thickness, depth of the Benxi Formation of Carboniferous in Ordos Basin,Benxi Formation shale are further subdivided into 1,2 sectors and according to the evaluation of shale gas resource potential,we could preferred the favorable areas and target areas of the Upper Paleozoic in Ordos Basin.Mud shale in Benxi Formation of the Carboniferous in Ordos Basin mainly develops in North Shanxi Slope, whose average thickness is 29.3m and average effective shale thickness is 11.8m.The development of organic-rich mud shale layers are benefit for shale gas formation.Shale's TOC content is about 2.7%on average;organic matter with high maturity,Ro is an average of 1.52%;with abundant type of organic matter, the main types are humic and sapropel humic. The content of quartz feldspar brittle mineral of mud shale in Benxi Formation is low, accounting for 14.2%,and it is not conducive to the development of shale gas reservoir fracturing treatment;higher content of clay minerals, with an average of 69.4%,enhances the shale gas adsorption ability.Shale reservoir has a lower porosity and pemeability, average porosity of 4.0%;permeability is mainly concentrated on 0.02 × 10-3 ? m2?0.2 × 10-3?m2.First,according to "the evaluation method of the shale gas resource potential and favorable area preferred standard operating manual",we can find methods to strike the area, thickness, porosity, adsorption gas content and other parameters, and then use the volume method to preliminarily calculate mud shale gas resources(P50)of sector 1 in Benxi Formation, which is approximately 0.1078 × 1012m3;the mudstone shale gas resources(P50)of sector 2 in Benxi Formation is approximately 0.0734 x 1012m3.We have optimized 3 organic-rich mud shale favorable areas in sector 1,a total area of 2236km2;and 3 organic-rich mud shale favorable areas in sector 2,with a total area of 2323km2 and 1 target area, with a total area of 288km2.
