Recently,remote sensing technology plays an important role in the mineral exploration and metallogenic prediction,by which extracted alteration information could help us location the oreshoots rapidly and precisely.East Kunlun district appears lots of quartz-vein type gold deposits with typical hydrothermal alterations.We selected Wulonggou gold deposit in East Kunlun orogenic belt as study area,and based on ASTER multispectral data to extract alteration information by using principAl component analysis(PCA).alteration information mainly consist of ferric(Fe3+)and hydroxyl(-OH)alteration.Combining those alteration with chemical exploration and tectonic information displays four metallogenic prospecting areas.We have acquired the following knowledge and achievements:(1)By pre-processing of geometric,radiometric and atmospheric correction and descramble technology,we accessed accurate pictures with high precision,which established a foundation for alteration information extraction.(2)We summarized and analysed the characteristics of mineral alteration types and spectrum in Wulonggou gold deposit.PCA has been chosen for the main extraction method to acquire ferric and hydroxyl alterations,by which highlighted the mineral alterations and indicated ore surveying.(3)In order to testing the accuracy of extraction results,field surveying works and rock samples analysis have been taken down.As a result,extraction results are highly coincide with actual geologic truth.(4)Base on the synthesis analysis information of geology,remote sensing,structural,geochemical exploration,by using prospecting information contents model among different data formats via GIS spatial analysis,We researched the distributions of each ore guide in Wulonggou to quantilize the role of each geologic elements in prospecting orehoots.Finally,four prospecting ore-forming areas have been proposed.using prospecting-information content,we can make a quantitative evaluation of impact to delineate metallogenic prospects.
