Tailings in the mountains or on the ground by artificial methods of damming,used to store the mining field in the beneficiation process of screening out the place of tailings.Tailings dam as the major dam of the tailings dam,in a number of human or natural forces under the influence of the situation,there will be the possibility of dam,the downstream life and property of the formation of a huge threat,combined with mineral processing plant discharged tailings containing mineral processing chemicals and other toxic chemicals and heavy metal ions,once the direct discharge,will contaminate the farmland and villages,the downstream surrounding environment is difficult to estimate the damage.In recent decades,tailings dam accidents have happened all over the world,tailings dam has become the most serious consequences,the most extensive range,the most serious economic loss of a class of accidents.Therefore,it is very important to forecast the extent of the sand drain in the tailings dam under various situations,and it is very important for the local disaster prevention and reduction and daily management of the mine.Based on the existing data and literature,this paper combines the theory of dam-break of tailings dam with the numerical simulation method,and makes a two-dimensional dam-break model by using FLUENT simulation software with Fushun Laihe tailings reservoir as an engineering example.The numerical simulation of the evolution state of the sand flow under the condition of dam break occurs.The two-dimensional model was established to study the relationship between the tailing dam height,the slope and the dynamic viscosity of the tailings,and finally draw the relevant conclusions.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)Summarize the research status of the mechanism,model and experiment of tailing dam failure at home and abroad;(2)The movement mechanism of the tailings dam and its causes are analyzed in detail;(3)The field survey of Fushun Laihe tailings pond was carried out,and the purpose of survey,engineering survey,engineering geology,hydrogeological conditions and geotechnical parameters were introduced.Finally,the conclusion and suggestion were given.And provide reference data for predicting the scope of the tailings dam collapse;(4)FLUENT software was used to establish the two-dimensional tailing dam model and analyze the evolvement law of the sand flow.The dynamic characteristics of the tailings dam under different dam heights,different sand flow dynamic viscosities and different downstream gradients were discussed,dynamic pressure,accumulation height;(5)Based on the simulation results,the severity of dam failure of the tailings dam in Fushun was evaluated.
