The various stages of the implementation of mineral exploration projects are closely related to the estimation of the amount of resources,and the estimation of the amount of resources and reserves is a very important summary of the results of the geological exploration.The estimation of resources and reserves is a very important summary of geological exploration work.Therefore,in the process of implementing the project,the method of estimating the amount of resources and the estimation of reserves is involved.There are often many differences between the results of different estimation methods and other ways,and the accuracy of the calculation results is quite different.At present,the traditional method is the most widely used and the most basic method of estimation,including block method,arithmetic mean method and section method.These methods follow the transformation of the ore body from the complex form to the simpler shape,and the volume is equal,thus the resource reserves are obtained,such methods are easy to grasp,but the reliability is low when it is used to estimate more complex orebodies.China's self-developed SD method is a professional method for mineral resource reserves estimation and verification.This method has many characteristics,which are more advantageous than traditional methods.For example,when the reserves are estimated,the method tries to overcome the rough calculation and other problems,and the calculation is not limited by the industrial index.It is more suitable to the market change and demand and can provide more accurate reserves estimation.Considering the mineral prospecting project of Tibet Nan Yuela Lead-zinc Deposit,the Zn element resource reserves estimation of number I-3 ore body in mining area is carried out.Firstly,this paper introduces the geological features and ore body characteristics of the Nan Yuela mining area and provides a basis for the metallogenic potential of this mining area.Through the research and analysis,the selection of section method and the SD method are used to estimate the reserves of the mineral resources in the ore area.In order to understand the SD method more clearly,this paper introduces the basic principles and advantages of SD and traditional methods in estimating reserves and uses the SD method and traditional method to estimate the resource quantity.By comparing the traditional method with the SD method,I have studied the advantages of the method,so as to promote the development of mineral resource estimation.
