A Nymph Taxonomic Study On Mayflies From Zhejiang Province (Insecta:Ephemeroptera)

Zhejiang Province has a complex geographic environment and abundant water resources,ranking fourth in the country.It also has abundant animal and plant resources.Historically,Zhejiang Province had not conducted systematic surveys of aquatic wildlife resources.The insects of the order have only been reported sporadically by some scholars.To investigate the diversity of mayflies in Zhejiang province,the nymph samples were collected by hand screen in 102 sample sites from 2016 to 2017.The first of this thesis introduces the natural geography of Zhejiang province and outlines the relevant knowledge of mayfles insects,We also reviews the history and status quo of Zhejiang province.We briefly describe the shape of the cricket and give an overview of the mayflies's collection tools,collection methods,preservation and observation,more than 13,300 mayfly specimens collected from 102 sample sites and municipalities of zhejiang province are classified,identified and listed upon updated classification system in the second chapter.In the third chapters,the larval keys to family were provided here,plus a checklist of mayflies in zhejiang province.In order to clarify historical taxonomic puzzles and improve this situation,As a result,46 species belonging to 25 genera as well as 12 families are recognized.Among them,8 species are described for the first time,and the distribution and collection of the eight water systems and two independent water systems of the mayfly species in Zhejiang province.Combined to the existing literatures,62 species of mayflies belonged to 13 families and 34 genera.One newly recorded family and nineteen newly recorded species are firstly reported in Zhejiang province.Besides,8 new species to science are described in detail.They are Baetis anjiensis sp.nov.,Baetis wuxiensis sp.nov.,Baetis tianmushanensis sp.nov.,Baetis qingyuanensis sp.nov.,Baetis xikouensis sp.nov.,Baetis xiamenensis sp.nov.,Baetis zhoushanensis sp.nov.,Baetis qiongtaiensis sp.nov.All specimens in this study are kept in key laboratory of wildlife biotechnology and conservation and utilization of Zhejiang Province,Zhejiang Normal University.
