Logic devices play an important role in modern electronic technology and integrated circuit.The combine of the photonic crystal and terahertz wave technology can design logic devices with terahertz wavelength level.Terahertz wave logic devices based on photonic crystals are smaller and easier to integrate than logic devices composed of electronic circuits.Using photonic crystal nonlinear resonant ring,photonic crystal multimode interference and self-imaging principle,five photonic crystal terahertz wave logic devices have been designed in this thesis.The main research contents are summarized as follows:1.Using photonic crystal nonlinear resonance rings and photonic crystal branching waveguides to design a photonic crystal terahertz wave AND logic gate and XOR logic gate.Realizing the functions of AND logic gate and XOR logic gate,the total size of photonic crystal terahertz wave AND logic gate and XOR logic gate is 40a×35a(6mm×5.25mm).2.Using photonic crystal nonlinear resonant rings to design photonic crystal NOR logic gate.Photonic crystal terahertz wave flip flop is designed by feedback compensation of two photonic crystals NOR logic gates through photonic crystal branch waveguides.The total size of photonic crystal terahertz wave flip flop is 64a×28a(13.6mm×5.6mm).3.Designing a 2×4 2D photonic crystal terahertz wave logic decoder based on nonlinear photonic crystal resonator rings and photonic crystal branch waveguides.The total size of 2×4 2D photonic crystal terahertz wave logic decoder is 44a×51a(4.4mm×5.1mm).4.Designing a photonic crystal NOR logic gate based on nonlinear photonic crystal resonant rings.A 4×2 photonic crystal terahertz wave logic encoder is proposed based on photonic crystal NOR logic gates and photonic crystal branch waveguides.The total size of 4×2 photonic crystal terahertz wave logic encoder is 47a×38a(4.7mm×3.8mm).5.A photonic crystal terahertz wave logic half adder is proposed based on the photonic crystal multimode interference region and the photonic crystal branch waveguide.The photonic crystal multimode interference region can determine the output state of the photonic crystal terahertz wave logic half adder.The total size of photonic crystal terahertz wave logic half adder is 53a×15a(5.3mm×1.5mm).
