The Songduoerbei Cu polymetallic ore belt is located between the North China Craton and the Siberian Craton,and in detail,the Neopaleozoic accretion zone of the northern margin of the North China Craton.The Songduoerbei area consists mainly of Upper Carboniferous Benbatu Formation,Lower Permian Hujierte Formation,and Upper Cretaceous Erlian Formation.The igneous rocks in this area are composed of monzonite granite,quartz diorite,and mafic-ultramafic complexes.The main faults in the Songduoerbei area are EW-trending.The Songduoerbei Cu polymetallic orebodies occur in the outer contact zones of the Permian monzonite granite and quartz diorite,and are hosted by the Hujierte volcanic rocks,consist of dacite and trachyandensite.The mineralization event is highly correlated with EW-trending faults,which resulted from the regional activities,whereas the NW-trending faults destroy the orebodies.The alteration minerals comprise chlorite,epidote,limonite,pyrite,kaolin,hornstone and malachite,in which malachite can be used to tracking concealed mineralization.14 orebodies have been identified in the middle and western parts of the Songduoerbei area,which is controlled by the EW-trending faults.The main ore-forming minerals are chalcopyrite,hematite,and arsenopyrite,with minor magnetite,pyrrhotite,pyrite and gold.Gangue minerals consist of quartz,feldspar,calcite and chlorite.With the comprehensive analysis of the geological and geochemical characteristics,we summarized those characteristics that invoked by mineralization.On the basis of the known deposits in this area,prospecting models have been established.Furthermore,the target area was delineated,and great mineralization potentials should have occurred in the middle and western parts of the Songduoerbei area.With the combination of reginal data,the occurrence of orebodies,textures of ores and hydrothermal alterations,there is a great potential for prospecting in depth in the Songduoerbei area.
