Rutile is an important accessory mineral in nature, and its characteristics such as morphology and composition are of great significance for the indication of provenance, genesis and mineralization. This paper mainly selects the rutile from the rutile deposits of different genesis and five types of deposits, including hydrothermal type gold deposit?porphyry type copper deposit,?crystal deposit,?rare earth deposit and sedimentary placer deposit,as the research object, and makes statistical analysis of the characteristics of the morphology, particle size and composition of rutile related to different genesis and different mineralization. This article contains the actual income of rare earth ore deposit and sedimentary sand gold deposits in the rutile 169 electron probe data,as well as the collection of different factors, related to different mineralization of rutile 366 electron probe data,53 LA-ICP-MAS data. The statistical study shows that the characteristics of rutile, such as morphology and chemical composition, are of great significance for indicating its genesis and different mineralization. In addition to determining the origin of rutile by the petrographic characteristics of rutile such as morphology, particle size and occurrence, the binary diagram of content of some characteristic elements in rutile such as Ca,Fe and Al can also be used for comprehensive discrimination. The chemical composition of rutile related to different mineralization is different, which makes rutile have indicative significance for different mineralization.Among them, the content of Mg and Al in rutile plays an important role in identifying the source of metallogenic materials for hydrothermal gold deposit, porphyry copper deposit and rare earth deposit. The content of rutile Zr has a certain effect on indicating the temperature of related ore-forming fluids, and there is a positive correlation between the two, that is,the higher the content of rutile Zr related to ore-forming,the higher the temperature of ore-forming fluids. The content of Fe in rutile has an obvious effect on indicating the ambient pressure of fluid, that is,the content of Fe in rutile is positively correlated with the metallogenic pressure. In addition,W and V in rutile related to mineralization play a role in indicating mineralization type. The following conclusions are drawn from the study of rutile in the placer gold deposits in northern Pakistan:(1)Using nb-cr discriminant diagram and geological background analysis,it is concluded that Bagrote rutile may be derived from Chalt volcanic rocks.Dainter rutile may originate from Hunza plutonic rock in the southern metamorphic belt of Karakorum.Shimshal rutile originates from Hunza igneous rock in the sedimentary belt in the northern part of Karakoram plate.(2)According to the binary diagram of Ti-Fe and Ti-Al contents of rutile and the analysis of source rocks of rutile, the rutile in this area should all be magmatic.(3)According to the signs of rutile Zr,Fe,W,V and other elements on the mineralization temperature, pressure and mineralization type,it is speculated that rutile in this area is probably related to the epithermal medium-high temperature porphyry deposit.
