Cultural-relics protection is very significant in the inheritance and revitalization of the long history and culture for the Chinese nation.The permanent storage of spatial and attribute data information for cultural relics is helpful for the long-term protection.It can also provide a reference for cultural relics' repair and restoration.The 3D laser scanning technology is characterized with high precision,non-contact and long-distance measurement,which can construct a three-dimensional model of large-scale cultural relics for panoramic virtual display.The technology of GIS is a useful tool in terms of input,storage,query and application of geographic data.Thus,applying GIS technology into cultural-relics protection,the ability to edit,retrieve,analyze and apply cultural relics data can be greatly improved,with interaction of spatial data and attribute data.This updates the management mode of data of space and attribute from the traditional way.Besides,the technology of database can store a large amount of space and attribute data,which is one approach of permanent storage for cultural-relics data.In this thesis,a cultural-relic protection management system is developed by applying the 3D laser scanning technology,GIS technology and database technology into the main teaching building of Hefei University of Technology.The system can store geographic data of the main teaching building and display the spatial model in three-dimensional.In the system,the operators,including attribute query,spatial query,information statistics,data linkage,daily management and results sharing,can be easily implemented.The high-precision spatial model established by 3D laser scanning technology can clearly visualize details of the main teaching building.Based on GIS technology,the system is able to achieve data archiving,attribute data and spatial data interaction,virtual reality.Therefore,the digitalization and informatization for cultural-relics protection are greatly enhanced,making the work of cultural-relics protection more accurate and efficient.It is a precise,quantitative and visual technical tool to manage and permanently store cultural-relics data,serving as a reference for future cultural relics planning.
