With the development of our country's economy, regenerative resource-based cities have grown out of resource-based cities and have gradually grown and expanded. However, they have not completely shaken off the former's problems in the accumulation of ecology and industries, and have caused uneven economic development in all cities. The geographical distribution is more evacuated, leading to significant economic spatial heterogeneity in the development of renewable resource-based cities. In order to promote the coordinated economic development of the study area, this study uses the principle of space economics, combined with spatial analysis model of regional economic differences, principal component analysis and other methods, and explores the spatial pattern of China's renewable resource-based cities based on the perspective of spatial heterogeneity, revealing the spatial laws of economic development and the driving factors among each cities, and propose corresponding countermeasures. The main contents are as follows:During the study period, the economic scale of renewable resource-based cities continued to expand, accounting for an ever-increasing proportion of the country's economy;the pace of economic development has steadily increased and accelerated faster than the national economic development rate;the economic structure has been optimized and upgraded but is slightly inferior to the proportion of national tertiary industry. The total economic size of each group is sorted by time as Eastern cities>Central cities> Northeast cities> Western cities,Large cities> Medium cities> Small cities,Energy cities> Mixed cities> Non-Metallic cities> Metal cities> Forest-Industry cities;the speed of economic development of each group of cities is ranked as follows:Forest-Industry cities> Non-Metallic cities> Metal cities> Energy cities>Comprehensive cities,Large cities> Small cities> Medium cities,Central cities>Eastern cities> Western cities>Northeast cities;Economic structure characteristics of all groups are sorted by time: primary industry is comprehensive cities> forest engineering cities>non-metal cities> energy cities> metal cities, small cities> medium cities> big cities, western cities>Eastern cities> Central> Northeast cities. The second industry is Energy cities> Non-Metal cities> General cities> Forest-Industry cities> Metal cities,Medium cities> Big cities> Small cities,Northeast cities> Eastern cities> Central cities> Western cities; The third industry is Forest-Industry cities > Non-metallic cities> Comprehensive cities> Energy cities> Metal cities,Small cities,Medium cities,Western cities>Northeast cities> Central cities> Eastern cities.(2)During the study period, the absolute differences in economic development level of regenerative resource-based cities as a whole showed the trend of a increasing, while the relative differences increased gradually in the early period and decreased in the later period. The overall spatial heterogeneity of the study area was compared between 2000-2015 for each group. The evolution trends of economic differences among intra-group and inter-group in different regions, scales, and resource-type cities were consistent, both decreasing first and then rising.Among them, the intra-group differences of different regions and scale types are the main causes of spatial economic disparities in the study area, and the eastern region and large-scale cities are the two main differences. The differences among resource-based cities and the metal cities among them are the main factors affecting the economic spatial differences in the study area. Therefore,it is crucial to focus on reducing the economic disparities in the cities that have caused the greatest degree of economic disparities in the study area.At the same time, the overall economic efficiency of regenerative resource-based cities is not high.Compared with pure technological efficiency, scale efficiency is a greater factor that lowers overall economic efficiency. The spatial heterogeneity of the economic efficiency of renewable resource-based cities is in the order of the eastern, central, northeastern, and western regions in each category;large-scale cities,medium-scale cities, and small-scale cities;energy cities, metals cities, integrated cities, and forest cities.Although the spatial heterogeneity is obvious, the heterogeneity of economic efficiency gradually decreases with time.(3)To study the influencing factors of renewable resource-based cities through principal component analysis. It is found that the comprehensive comparison of the factors in the principal components of 2000 and 2015 on the economic development of regenerative resource-based cities revealed that: The influence of various factors on theeconomic development of the study area in 2015 was deeper than in 2000.From the contribution rates of the main components, the impact of the major impact factors on renewable resource-based cities in 2000 was investment, urbanization, and industrial structure in order. In 2015,the major factors for the renewable resource-based cities were investment, urbanization, industrial structure, and ecological and environmental. Therefore, when investigating the mechanism of influence factors, four aspects should be analyzed including investment, urbanization, industrial structure, and ecological environment.(4)In aspect of optimizing the economic development of regenerative resource-based cities, based on the actual conditions of economic development in China's regenerative resource-based cities and the characteristics of economic spatial differences, from the perspective of different areas, different types of resources and different scales, adjustment measures and future key development directions are put forward.
