Seismic attributes are different results of seismic data calculated by different mathematical transformations,it is a measure of the kinematics,dynamics and statistical characteristics of seismic waves.Choosing the appropriate seismic attributes can not only better reveal the geological structure characteristics,but also reveal the reservoir characteristics such as lithology,physical properties and hydrocarbon-bearing properties of the target layer,helping us to better use the seismic data to judge the geological structure and sedimentary environment of the study area for reservoir prediction and description.This paper mainly discusses the application of time-frequency decomposed seismic attributes to reservoir description.Firstly,the principle and corresponding advantages and disadvantages of several common time-frequency decomposition methods are compared and analyzed,including: Short Time Fourier Transform?Continuous Wavelet Transform ? S-Transform ? Wigner-Ville Distribution ? Matching Pursuit.Secondly,several kinds of common calculation methods of seismic attributes and their characteristics are compared and analyzed,the classification,calculation principle,geological meaning and scope of application of seismic attributes are focused on analyzed.At the same time,the paper analyzes the extraction method of seismic attributes,the influencing factors and the selection of parameters in the application of actual seismic data.Finally,the seismic data of the actual work area is processed by using the time-frequency decomposition methods,and several seismic attributes of seismic data are calculated.Through the reservoir description of the shale oil reservoir,the attributes that can well characterize the geological characteristics of the work area are selected.Compared with the conventional seismic attributes which are directly calculated from seismicdata,the seismic attributes are calculated from seismic data which are processed by using time-frequency decomposition method can show the characteristics of different scale geological bodies in the reservoir,can describe reservoirs better.
