Woven spacer fabric composite is a new kind of sandwich composites material.The reinforcing perform is woven spacer fabric,which is consist of upper face fabric,lower face fabric and the linking material between the two face fabric.The connecting material can be a group of yarns or a group of fabric.Woven spacer fabric composite have the advantage of excellent tenacity and weight light.In this paper,the woven spacer fabric composites were designed and were manufactured and the mechanical properties of composite materials were tested.Firstly,the polyester filaments were used to design two woven spacer fabric,one is connected by weft and the other is connected by warp.In order to study the composite properties,four different wovens were designed and woven,the four different wovens is the plain weave,basket weave,2/2 twill and 1/3 twill as the reinforcement’s face fabric,and 15 kinds density of the connecting yams was designed.Secondly,a mould was designed to open the space of the woven spacer fabric before filling.The two raw materials of polyurethane foam were blended and filled into the space.The epoxy resin,the polyamide resin and absolute ethyl alcohol were blended,then the preform was consolidated in a handle paste shaping craft with the resin blender.Finally,many tests relevant to woven spacer fabric composite materials,these tests included compression and three point bending tests.Compared the woven spacer fabric composites,sandwich composites and the foam structure composites,the analysis shows that the connect yarn could strengthen the composite’s compression performance and bending performance.The woven spacer fabric composites had certain pressure resistance and bending resistance;The face woven of the composites had little influence in the woven spacer fabric composites,in order to reduce the difficulty of weaving,could just used the plain weave as the face of composites.With the increase of connecting yarns density,the compression performance is increased,its influence is obvious,and the bending performance also had increased trend,but the influence is not obvious.
