Nuo originated from the primitive society.It is a kind of hasten lucky avoids disaster cultural awareness activities which gradually formed from the combination of animatism and totem worship.In the later development,it has evolved into a kind of sacrifice activities to frighten off the ghosts and disease.Nuo belongs to the"wild culture" category.It is the inheritance and development of the ancient culture of sorcery.Nuo is earlier than Chinese mainstream culture of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,but in the later development,Nuo culture actively absorbs and fuses Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism cultural elements.Nuo has been developed in Shang Dynasty.It has attracted the attention of ruling class and became the court etiquette.Nuo music is produced along with Nuo sacrifice ceremony,and exorcising opera is the performing activities which evolved from Nuo music,the purpose is to entertain God and people.Nuo mask is the essential props in exorcising opera performance.Overall,Nuo mask is not a simple props,it also contains the philosophy,aesthetics,folklore meaning.Nuo mask is the treasure of China styling art,has its own unique styling features and artistic charm.The modeling of Nuo mask difference according to the role,modeling performance closely around the purpose of character’s personality,status,occupation,and age.The modeling characteristics of Nuo mask in time on the longitudinal and area on the lateral are distinct and typical.This paper studies the definition,development,rheology of Nuo culture,Nuo culture phenomenon of Chenzhou area and Chenzhou Nuo mask folk culture connotation,classification,characteristics and other fields.The purpose is to let readers understand more Chenzhou Nuo culture,feel and enjoy the unique charm of Chenzhou drama mask,and do some literature supplement for Chenzhou Nuo and the analysis of modeling characteristics of Chenzhou Nuo mask.The paper is divided into three parts,with seven chapters.Except the introduction of the first chapter and the conclusion of the seventh chapter,the first part includes the second,third and fourth chapter.This part research and analyze the basic background of Nuo culture positioning,definition,history,development and cultural characteristics.The generation and evolution of exorcising opera is briefly introduced,and the characteristics of the Chenzhou Nuo and exorcising opera are introduced in detail,the mask art is also introduced here.The second part includes the fifth chapter,mainly discuss the taboo of artists who produced Chenzhou exorcising opera mask,research and analyze the production process.The third part includes the sixth chapter,mainly on the Chenzhou exorcising opera masks’ modeling,the use of color,facial features,crown,decorative patterns,beard,performance,style and other aspects of inductive analysis research. |
