The Kyoto Protocol Signatories Environmental Kuznets Curve Contrast Analysis

Response to global climate change is not only the science and environment problems,international negotiations in the field of climate change is more political and diplomatic problems.It is the essence of the struggle for the future in the advantage position in the energy development and economic competition,for developing countries but also to maintain the right to development of political struggle.Facing the growth of energy and environmental constraints increasingly strengthen,developing countries are in urgent need of realizing the economic and environmental gap with the developed countries,finding the intrinsic relationships between economic development and environment,achieving the harmonious development of economy and environment.Therefore,this article explores the parties of The Kyoto protocol to development level of economy and environment,and tries to help decision makers make more scientific environmental policy and targets to provide valuable reference.Environmental kuznets curve as the pioneer research of the relationship between environmental quality and economic growth theory,have got the extensive research of international scholars.But the existing literature is more for the existence of environmental kuznets curve,few article revealing its intrinsic mechanism.So this paper using green total factor productivity as the environmental efficiency evaluation index which can reflect the production process of inputs into good outputs and pollutants,using the directional distance function and Malmquist-Luenberger index,measuring The Kyoto protocol signatures in 1995-2008 green total factor productivity and its decomposition trend,then uses the nonparametric estimation fitting out of the relationship between the environmental kuznets curve,and compare the green total factor productivity change and environmental technology,environmental efficiency changes to the environmental kuznets curve,the influence of environment kuznets curve internal driving factors,and comparative analysis in The Kyoto protocol attachment 1 and attachment 2 countries green economy development situation.The study found that The Kyoto protocol signatures environmental kuznets curve appears "U" relationship.We have reasons to believe that in annex 2 countries are pursued the development path of annex 1 countries,with the promotion of economy,the environmental quality will improve.But,after continue to break down the environmental kuznets curve,this paper found that environmental efficiency of the two groups of countries there is a strong convergence signal,suggesting that environmental efficiency in annex 2 countries want to catch up the annex 1 countries there is a big difficulty.However,China’s data showed strong chase momentum,and obvious gradually narrowing the gap with annex 1 countries.Overall,we observed a higher income level environmental efficiency may be due to the application of the advanced environmental protection technology,or related to environmental management.In the environmental kuznets curve,the influence of environment to economic efficiency is greater than the economic impact of environmental technology,so consider in annex 2 countries pursued the annex 1 countries by improving the efficiency level of production frontier.
