As the source of life in nature,water resources is the material base of human survival,and the security of socioeconomic development.Heavy metal pollution in the river basin constraints to sustainable development of social economy seriously,which is the potential danger of human health.With the characteristics of persistence and difficult to be biodegradable,heavy metals are easy to accumulate in the environment.Heavy metal can enter the water environment via various methods and can be adsorbed into particles and deposited in the sediments.Though the evaluation the ecological risk,researchers can understand the present environmental quality better,which provides theoretical basis for the prevention and control of heavy metal pollution in basin.Xiaoqing River Basin is one of the most important river in Shandong Province.As the main river to receive sewage,water resource in Xiaoqing River has become seriously polluted due to the effluent discharging from industries and domestic sewage since 1970s.Heavy metal pollution problems were particularly acute although series of measures has been taken to improve the situation.This essay focused on the heavy metal in the Xiaoqing River sediment and used comprehensive pollution index,Nemerow index,geo-accumulation index and potential ecological risk index to evaluate the pollution status and ecological risk level at ten monitoring sections of Xiaoqing River in 2016,and the sources of heavy metals were analyzed by multivariate statistical analysis.Some economic indicators were selected to analyze the economic and social development status in the 18 countries,which help to determine the cause of ecological risk.Moreover,the data of heavy metal concentration in Jinan during the period from 1996 to 2014 was collected to analyze the annual variation of ecological risk in Jinan section,combined with the development process of industries involving heavy metals to determine the driving factors of risk in sediments of Jinan section.Suggestion on the prevention and control of heavy metal was proposed to help to manage the heavy metal in river basin.The main contexts and conclusions of this study were shown as:The establishment of database in Xiaoqing River.This study measured heavy metals concentration,the collection of data and field investigation were combined with to determine the status or the variation of concentration and risk level,social economic status and industry development course were used to establish the heavy metal database.The assessment on the status and risk degree.Comparison of average and standard values and analysis of variation coefficient were employed to have descriptive analysis of concentration data.Sediment quality criteria,geoaccumulation index and potential ecological risk index were used to evaluate the risk degree.The results showed that risk degree in Damatou,Xinfengzhuang and Xizha were higher than other sections,concentration and risk level of Hg and Cd were highest compared to background values.Source analysis of heavy metal ecological risk.Multivariate statistical analysis including correlation analysis,principal component analysis and cluster analysis were employed to determine the correlation and homology between heavy metals and principal component which caused ecological risk.The results corroborated that sources of risk were primarily contributed by three components,industrial inputs,atmospheric air,traffic source and agricultural source.The annual variation and source analysis of ecological risk in Jinan section.Combine the trend of the concentration and the development process of industries involved heavy metals to determine the change of risk and identification of source.The results showed that coal mining and washing,petroleum processing,chemical industry and metal smelting made important contribution to the risk caused by Hg,Pb,As and Cr.Suggestion on the prevention and control of heavy metal pollution.From six perspectives of industrial structure,agricultural pollution,urban domestic sewage,management system and publicity to put forward suggestions and advices for the control and management of the heavy metal pollution in the river basin.
