Studies On Conflicts Between Farmers’ Awareness And Behavior Of Environmental Protection

Since the middle of the twentieth Century,China’s industrial economy has developed rapidly,and people’s living standards have been greatly improved,but the rapid economic development has made the environmental pollution problem increasingly prominent.China is a large agricultural country with a large rural population,the progress and popularization of science and technology.The production and living methods of rural areas have changed greatly.In the development of agriculture,farmers use chemical products such as chemical fertilizers and pesticides to improve the crop production,causing serious environmental pollution questions.The pollution of rural environment not only affects the environment quality of people’s lives and poses a threat to people’s health,but also affects the development of green agriculture in China,restricts the sustainable development of rural economy,and hinders the pace of the construction of a new socialist countryside.Therefore,it is particularly important to improve the awareness of environmental protection in rural areas and to strengthen the Environmental Protection behavior of farmers.During the period from the founding of China to the reform and opening up,China’s economic development was lagging behind.People’s living standards were poor.Solving the issue of food and clothing and vigorously developing the economy were the main themes of the times.At that time,only economic development was emphasized,and the serious pollution that development brought to the environment was ignored.Due to the serious lack of environmental protection awareness at that time,people did not realize the importance of environmental protection,and there was no so-called environmental protection behavior.Economic development was based on the sacrifice of the environment.Since the reform and opening up,China’s social and economic levels have improved significantly.The long-term consequences of environmental pollution have seriously affected people’s lives.Coupled with the implementation of national environmental protection policies and the guidance of the mass media for environmental protection,the concept of environmental protection has gradually enhanced in rural areas.However,farmers are mainly concerned with pollution from industry and less attention to environmental damage from their own or within the countryside.And,more importantly,farmers have shown inconsistencies in their awareness and actions onenvironmental pollution,namely,though they have the consciousness of environmental protection,but not to take the corresponding environmental protection behavior,that is,the so-called environmental protection concept and behavior conflict phenomenon in this article.This paper draws on domestic and foreign research results,takes the environmental protection awareness and environmental behaviors of farmers in Liaocheng City as the starting point,uses a combination of qualitative research and quantitative research methods,and uses questionnaires and interviews to study the issues raised and the questionnaire data.Based on analysis,There are many manifestations of the conflict between environmental protection awareness and environmental protection behaviors of farmers in Liaocheng.There are many reasons for the conflicts between environmental protection awareness and environmental protection behaviors of farmers,both the subjective and objective reasons of the farmers themselves.This paper has found that: the awareness of environmental protection is strong in rural areas of Liaocheng,and the awareness of environmental protection has not played a positive role in guiding environmental protection behavior.On the one hand,the knowledge of environmental protection of rural households is relatively lacking and there is no mature environmental protection quality.On the other hand,even if there is a strong awareness of environmental protection,because there is not enough ability,effective resources and participation channels,farmers have to abandon environmental protection behavior.
