A Comparative Study Of Legal Protection Of Wetland In China And The United States

The wetland known as the "kidney of the earth" is an important part of the global ecological environment.It is also one of the three major ecosystems in the natural world with forests and oceans.It is also the basis for maintaining ecological balance and maintaining biodiversity.However,in recent years,about 40%of the existing wetlands in China have been severely degraded,and at least 50%of natural wetlands have been lost due to intensified human activities.Due to the deteriorating wetland environment,the area and quantity have also been continuously reduced,and various types of pollution have intensified,leading to a drastic decline or even loss of wetland ecological and service functions.Therefore,for the sake of environmental protection and the need for continuous social development,governments,social organizations,and individuals in various countries are paying more and more attention to the problem of wetland destruction.The work on how to do a good job of wetland legal protection has gradually become a task that needs to be highly regarded today.Today,after several years of exploration and learning,the legal protection of wetlands in China has made great progress.In particular,we have formulated and promulgated the"Regulations on Wetland Protection and Management",and local governments have also introduced many local realities.Local laws and regulations,etc.These laws and regulations promote and protect the legal protection of China’s wetlands,but at the same time,there are also some problems and deficiencies.In contrast,because the protection consciousness was earlier awakened in the United States,a relatively complete wetland protection legal system was established and developed,and the law enforcement system was relatively mature.The judicial relief procedure was standardized,and comprehensive and effective protection for wetlands was formed.Therefore,this article compares and analyzes the legal protection of wetlands in China and the United States,and forms a reference for the country on the basis of learning the advanced experience of the US wetlands,and promotes the legal protection of wetlands in China to be more perfect.
