Synthesis And Evaluation Of Polymers As Pour Point Depressants For Diesel Fuels

In this paper,a series of different methacrylate-maleic anhydrides R₁MC-MA,R₁=C₁₄,C_16,C₁₈ were synthesized from methacrylate RMC and maleic anhydride MA by free radical polymerization.And a series of amines R₁MC-MA-a were obtainedbygraftingR₁MC-MAwithtetradecylamine,hexadecylamine,octadecylamine,aniline,and naphthylamine.In addition,a series of terpolymers methacrylate-maleic anhydrides-?-olefin C₁₄MC-MA-L₁AO,L₁=C₁₄,C₁₆,C₁₈ with different molar ratios were synthesized from tetradecyl methacrylate C₁₄MC,maleic anhydride MA and?-olefin LAO.Finally,the action mechanism of pour point depressants PPDs were investigated by means of DSC and POM.The 0^#diesel oil was used as the research object,and then the effect of a series of different R₁MC-MA and R₁MC-MA-a on the cold flow-ability of diesel fuel was investigated.The results showed that the polymers grafted with aliphatic amine had a significant effect on the reduction of the CFPP of diesel fuel,and the polymers grafted with aromatic amines had a significant effect on the reduction of SP of diesel fuel.In order to improve the depressive effect of these polymers,several amines with better effect were blended.The same tests were performed on C₁₄MC-MA-L₁AO L₁=C₁₄,C₁₆,C₁₈.The results showed that C₁₄MC-MA-L₁AO,L₁=C₁₆ have better depressive effect on diesel fuel.To obtain efficient PPDs for diesel fuel,several polymers with better effects were blended with ethylene vinyl acetate EVA VA25wt.%.In summary,the chemical structure of the polymer is closely related to its depressive effect;at the same time,the proportion of polar groups and non-polar groups in the polymer is also closely related to its depressive effect.It is very important to study the mechanism of PPDs in this paper for the development of PPD in the future.
