The processing quality of the workpiece mainly includes the processing precision and the quality of the processed surface,the quality of the processing directly affects the related performance,cost and reliability of the product.and thus effectively improving the processing quality of workpieces has always been one of the core topics in mechanical manufacturing research.Nowadays,with the rapid development of manufacturing industry,people's requirements for processing quality are constantly improving,hence,the higher requirements are put forward for related research.This paper analyzes the influencing factors and modeling methods of workpiece processing quality based on a large number of domestic and foreign literatures.Milling is taken as the research object,the digital modeling and analysis methods of milling quality are systematically studied by the principle of virtual milling.The main contents of this paper are as follows:This paper systematically analyzes the current situation of modeling and analysis methods of processing quality and virtual manufacturing technology at home and abroad,and the shortcomings of current research is summarized.At present,the research on processing quality modeling is mainly focused on turning,but the research on milling quality modeling is less.However,the modeling and analysis of milling quality are still mainly focused on the surface roughness analysis of the workpiece,and the research and analysis of the dimension error and the shape error of the workpiece are less.Aiming at this situation,The main research ideas and methods of this paper are put forward,and the virtual milling quality modeling is completed by using the “theory of multi-body system” and the “principle of homogeneous coordinate transformation”.The surface topography of ball-end milling cutter,cylindrical milling cutter and end-milling cutter is simulated by MATLAB simulation software,the end-milling cutter taken as an example,the virtual cube workpiece is processed and the cube virtual workpiece is generated,which provides the condition for the analysis of the machining quality of the virtual workpiece.The evaluation models of different processing quality items are established by combining the simulation processing model with the corresponding evaluation methods and standards of processing quality,including the evaluation models of virtual workpiece size accuracy,flatness,parallelism,perpendicularity and roughness,the validity of the virtual processing model and the processing quality evaluation model is verified by evaluating the processing quality of the virtual workpiece.An analysis method of workpiece processing quality is introduced by way of example.Firstly,the processing quality of virtual workpieces is analyzed from two aspects of single factor error and multi-factor error,and the analysis method of processing error is described.And then,the influence of different milling parameters on the surface roughness of virtual workpiece is studied.Finally,a visualization software for modeling and analysis of milling quality is developed based on the MATLAB-GUI graphical interface,which can simulate different input milling parameters and evaluate and analyze the processing quality.The research work in this paper is summarized,and the future research on modeling and analysis of processing quality is prospected.
