Under the background of Industry 4.0,China has actively developed the manufacturing industry and strive to take the initiative in the future technological revolution.The take-off of the manufacturing industry is inseparable from the development of CNC machine tools.CNC machine tools are the foundation of industry and they are also one of the most important equipments in the manufacturing industry.They play a vital role in all aspects of national life.China is the country with the largest number of CNC machine tools in the world,but the proportion of high-end CNC machine tools is too small.The reason for this situation is not only because China's CNC machine tools are still far from developed countries in terms of performance and technology.What's more important is that many companies do not attach importance to the industrial design of CNC machine tools for a long time,leading to their lack of competitiveness in the international market.Based on a large amount of research and analysis,the paper comprehensively used theoretical research and example verification methods to study the industrial design of CNC machine tools,and initially achieved the following results:1.The concept,characteristics and application process of virtual engineering technology are introduced.The application,characteristics,classification of virtual prototyping technology and its application in the design of CNC machine tools are emphatically described.2.Through the interpretation of the concept of industrial design,the principles of the industrial design of CNC machine tools(personalization principles,materialization principles,and environmental principles)are summarized,and the four major elements of the industrial design of CNC machine tools(forms,colors,materials,ergonomics.)are proposed.Based on its own design experience,the industrial design flow of CNC machine tools are summarized.3.Supported by knowledge theory,based on the induction of industrial design knowledge of CNC machine tools,based on the four design elements of form,color,material,and ergonomics respectively,the industrial design knowledge base system of CNC machine tools was constructed based on MYSQL.The fuzzy matching and query of the semantic keywords in the MYSQL environment are realized,and the corresponding design scheme of the numerical control machine tool is quickly retrieved through the semantic matching,which provides a corresponding knowledge reference for the industrial design work.4.Combined with the knowledge base,the example design of a progressive multi-focal lens machine tool was completed,and the designed machine tool program was evaluated using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method,which verified the rationality and feasibility of the industrial design knowledge base of the numerical control machine tool.Theoretical studies and practical tests show that the industrial design research and knowledge base construction of CNC machine tools is a significant task.It can comprehensively and systematically integrate the design knowledge of the industrial design of numerically-controlled machine tools into the library,facilitate the retrieval and utilization,increase the work efficiency of the designers,and promote the development of the industrial design industry of CNC machine tools.
