Waterborne UV-curable coatings,as a kind of new type,efficient and environmentally friendly photosensitive coatings,are becoming a hot spot of research trend.The absence of solvent is the supreme point of UV-curable coatings,thus greatly reducing the VOC emissions,but often UV resins generally have a high viscosity,the application must be added to the diluent to improve its viscosity and leveling and so on.The addition of diluent can increase the VOC emissions,while some properties of the coating also been side effects.Using of the water as a solvent not only avoids the problems caused by the diluent,but also considerably reduces wasting of the energy.Traditional water-borne modification of epoxy acrylates have a light curing speed,coating the advantages of high hardness and wear resistance,but also with a strong shrinkage during curing to have internal stress effect,thus greatly reduce the adhesion.Traditional acrylic emulsion coating with transparent coating,water resistant,oil resistant,heat resistant,aging resistance and high glossiness good performance but also has the poor adhesion,slow speed of drying defects.Therefore,introducing light curing groups from traditional acrylic ester emulsion,trying to get the linear acrylate polymer through light cross-linking curing effect so as to constitute a network of polymer structure,thus to improve the comprehensive performance.The hybrid modification of acrylate polymers and epoxy acrylate,making it achieve the goal of performance complementation.ESO is a nature degradation,abundant resource,and environment-friendly raw material.It has heat resistance,light fastness,mutual permeation resistance,low temperature flexibility,and low volatility,non-toxic harmless,green environmental protection.But ESO acrylate showed low speed light curing in UV curing coatings,insufficient coating wear resistance,and further modification and synthesis to the application of waterborne UV-curable binders,making it gain strong theoretical significance and practical application value.Therefore,this paper from the following two aspects has carried on the preparation of waterborne UV curable oligomer research:1.Styrene-acrylic emulsion waterborne UV curing system was studie d by the physical mixing,modified styrene-acrylic emulsion having a poly merizable functional group,modified solvent-phenylpropyl prepolymer in three methods.(1)The styrene acrylic emulsion was synthesized by physical mixing method,using styrene,butyl acrylate and acrylic acid as main raw materials.We discussed the ratio and dosage of emulsifier,p H,reactiontime or temperature and the usage of initiator on the effects of the conversion rate or the emulsion stabilizing properties.With epoxy acrylic acid,maleic anhydride and some raw materials,waterborne epoxy acrylic resin was synthesized.And we discussed the temperature,catalyst type or amount,reaction time on the influence of the waterborne epoxy acrylic resin synthesis.Finally,the styrene acrylic emulsion and epoxy acrylic resin dissolved by certain proportion,mixing,coating,then to determine the best proportion.(2)Using styrene,butyl acrylate,glycidyl methacrylate and acrylic acid as main raw materials,the styrene acrylic emulsion containing modified functional groups was polymerized,and further attempts to modified the introduction of C = C.We discussed the ratio and dosage of emulsifier,p H,reaction time or temperature and the usage of initiator on the effects of the conversion rate or the emulsion stabilizing properties.(3)Under the condition of toluene as solvent,the styrene acrylic emulsion containing epoxy functional groups was synthesized,and then the introduction of C=C on the epoxy and acrylic graft,the hydroxyl with maleic anhydride to introduce carboxyl,removing the solvent and waterborne,adding photo initiator 184 and coating.2.Choosing environment-friendly raw materials –-ESO which is natural degradative and resourceful,and using half ester method,the modified UV curable resin is gotten with ESO and Monoestercompound,which synthesized by HEMA and MAH or PA.Finally,The waterborne UV curable resin is synthesized with the modified UV curable resin and MAH by water-borne way.Through a series of experiments,the temperature and catalyst species were analyzed at the optimal reaction conditions,the structure of product is characterized by a method of corresponding analysis with the infrared spectroscopy.
