The gelatin hollow capsules have a long history of over 100 years,although they bring us great convenience,but still with easy dehydration hardening and water softening shortcomings.For the past few years,swept through Europe’s "mad cow disease",the outbreak of "poison capsules" incident in our country,coupled with religious factors,vegetarian requirements,domestic and overseas medical experts have begun to develop new plant hollow capsules.In recent years,the development of plant materials capsules mainly based on cellulose esters,plant polysaccharides and plant starch.But using plant starch as raw material of the hollow capsules is rare,because the membrane is brittle,fragile,and the antioxidant ability is inferior to the gelatin capsules.In this paper,the country’s resource-rich konjac glucomannan(KGM)and potato starch as raw material to form a composite material with good film,and be used for the preparation of the new plant hollow capsules.The main contents are as follows(1)Oxide modified KGM were compound with potato starch,and determined the mechanical properties,moisture absorption and moisture permeability of OKGM-potato starch composite film.The optimum oxidation conditions of KGM was:oxidation temperature was 60℃,pH value was 11,reaction time was 3h.Best complex conditions of OKGM and potato starch was:OKGM:potato starch=1:3,glue concentration was 1.25%,reaction temperature was 60℃,and reaction time was 3h.Under this condition,the tensile strength of the composite film was 20.8MPa,the break elongation was 21.3%,the light transmittance was 21.9%,the coefficient of moisture permeability was 5.1 × 10-9 g/(mm·h·mmHg),the coefficient of moisture absorption was 7.6%,the droplets permeation time was 33 min/mm.Tests showed that the mechanical properties,moisture absorption and moisture permeability of the OKGM-potatoes starch composite film have greatly improved than KGM film,OKGM film,potato starch films.(2)Rheological analysis,infrared spectroscopy analysis,environmental scanning electron microscopy analysis and thermal analysis were used to characterize the structure of the film of OKGM,potato starch,OKGM-potato starch.Tests showed that the compounded of OKGM and potato starch has good compatibility and has a dense network structure.(3)By the method of maximum dosage,the acute toxicity test of OKGM-potato starch was tested,LD50>3.6 g/kg BW,determined the product was safe.(4)OKGM-potato starch as the main raw material,carrageenan as coagulant aid,glycerol as plasticizer,according to the traditional preparation process of gelatin hollow capsules for preparing the new plant hollow capsules.Index detection test showed that the plant hollow capsules prepared in line with the "People’s Republic of China Pharmacopoeia" standards.(5)Stability test of the plant hollow capsules was investigated.High temperature tests showed that it has good stability at high temperatures;hygroscopicity is better than that of the gelatin hollow capsule.
