The coordination chemistry of low-valent boron,aluminum compounds and transition metals has a novel structure and a potential discovery of monomolecular magnets.A novel β-diimine ligand 1,which does not contain active proton hydrogen,was successfully developed by car-bon-carbon coupling reaction of chlorimimine I and imine Y1.The N-heterocyclicaluminumbromide compounds Y4,Y5 and Y10 were synthesized by different reaction paths of ligand 1 and ligand I7.Their molecular structures were characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction and nuclear magnetic resonance.Y4,Y5,Y10 have some common characteristics:A1 atoms in the six-ring into a ship-like configuration,the ring C1,C2,C3,N1,N2 atoms in almost a plane.At present,LA1X1X2(X1=Me,Cl,I,X2=Cl,1,L=β-diketimine)compounds have been synthesized successively.But due to the unique prop-erties of Al-Br bond,LAlXBr(X=Me,Br)Compounds have not yet been reported,and the successful separation of Y4,Y5,Y10 solves the synthetic problem of these compounds.The novel synthetic method of aluminum carbene,which reduces the reaction step and optimizes the reaction conditions,hasgreat practical significance to perfect the syntheticwork of alumi-num carbene by reducing Y5,Y10.In the subject of the synthesis of linear metal complexes,the stable compound of the N-heterocyclic bromoboraneY14 was successfully synthesized by reducing the tetrabro-moborate stabilized bya-diketimine ligand.The structural parameter of compound Y14 is similar to that of known compound {N(Dip)C(H)}2BBr.Y14 is the basis for the synthesis of linear boryl complexes.Compared with the compound {N(Dip)C(H)}2BBr,it not only has high synthesis efficiency but also can reduce the occurrence of side reactions,and it is more likely toseparate linear boryl complexes.The linear complexes of different metals have dif-ferent numbers of single electrons,and they exhibit different molecular magnetic properties,which enter into the field of low coordination molecular magnetism.
