Research On Water-borne UV-curable Ink For Wood Surface

With the continuous improvement of wood surface decoration and environmental protection requirements,water-borne UV ink for direct printing decoration can’t only replace the traditional wood surface veneer decoration and other technical by simplifing the process,but also has a green security,Color saturation,achieving three-dimensional effect and so on.Therefore,it’s necessary to research and development water-borne UV ink for direct printing of wood surface,stable performance and good printability.This paper prepared Water-borne UV four-color inks with water-borne polyurethane as binder,phthalocyanine blue BGS,lysol red,lemon yellow and carbon black as pigments,wetting dispersant and conditioner ect.The effects of the dispersion stability and adhesion was researched by grinding time,wetting dispersing agent and its amount on inks.It found that the color fastness to 3B,Dv(90)particle diameter 0.46μm,particle size of storage 50 days 0.48μm blue ink was made up of BYK190,adding amount 0.6%,grinding 6 hours.Its color density is 1.9,with the viscosity remained at about 1900mPa.s and the best printing ink layer thickness of 30μm after 8 seconds cured.The color fastness to 3B,Dv(90)particle diameter 0.60μm,particle size of storage 50 days 0.61 μm red ink was made up of BYK198,adding amount 0.2%,grinding 4 hours.Its color density is 1.88,with the viscosity remained at about 1800mPa.s and the best printing ink layer thickness of 40μm after 7 seconds cured.The color fastness to 3B,Dv(90)particle diameter 0.95μm,particle size of storage 50 days 0.95μm yellow ink was made up of BYK198,adding amount 0.6%,grinding 4 hours.Its color density is 1.56,with the viscosity remained at about 1970mPa.s and the best printing ink layer thickness of 30μm after 9 seconds cured.The color fastness to 3B,Dv(90)particle diameter 1.14μm particle size of storage 50 days 1.14μm black ink was made up of BYK190,adding amount 0.4%,grinding 4 hours.Its color density is 1.9,with the viscosity remained at about 1740mPa.s and the best printing ink layer thickness of 26μm after 8 seconds cured.Four color inks,blue,red,yellow and black inks,prepared by wetting dispersing agents BYK190,BYK198,BYK198 and BYK190 respectively,were not easy to bleeding,with good overprinting and clear reconstruction of wood grain lines.Water UV inks prepared by optimum conditions were tested to analysis printing quality on substrate of medium density board with 600 mesh screen test version in the same screen printing conditions,the results shows that blue,red,yellow,black four-color ink color density can be 1.51,1.46,1.34,1.51 respectively with good intermediate representation.the minimum reproduction width of the test representation is 0.10pt,0.15pt,0.15pt and 0.15pt respectively.The minimum reproduction width of the lines is 6p,6pt,8pt and 8p respectively.
