With the urban residents’ living standard improving as well as their consumption idea,an increasing amount of bulky waste is discarded,mainly including waste furniture and waste household appliances,and the supporting facility for transportation and treatment is imperfect,which not only gives bad influence on city appearance,but also brings trouble for sanitation workers in their daily work.As the key part in bulky waste transportation and treatment system,bulky waste recycling and processing facility is of academic value and practicable significance to study its location and function optimization.This research analyzes the current situation of bulky waste both at home and abroad,such as the definitions,regulations and treatment methods of bulky waste in different countries or cities,and combs literature research and achievement gained by our team.Through researching the characteristics of bulky waste and transportation and treatment system,a model is established with the total cost of transportation and treatment system as the objective function,which including land cost,facility and equipment cost,operation cost,transportation cost,residue treatment cost and return of recycled goods,to solve the location and function optimization of bulky waste recycling and processing facility by harmony search algorithm.Taking Shenzhen city as example,the optimization result shows that the first,second and fourth candidate points should be chosen as the bulky waste recycling and processing facility to serve for 14 bulky waste collection and distribution points.And the first one should be set with maintenance,disassembly and crushing functions as well as the fourth one,the second one only disassembly function.Meanwhile,sensitivity analysis of feature parameters like land cost,unit transportation cost,operation cost and product conversion ratio over total cost is performed;the result shows that,unit transportation cost has the greatest influence on the total cost.
