Automotive glass is one of the most important parts of automobile,and its manufacturing requirement is quite strict while its forming process is fairly complex.So far,our understanding of this process still remains the empirical period,and actual manufacture mainly depends on trial and error.The tempering process of Automotive glass is an important stage of glass forming,which will affect the mechanical properties of the glass.Therefore,it has practical significance value to research on the process and to establish a set of relatively accurate FEM(Finite Element Method)simulation system.In this paper,an on-site survey about windshield's manufacturing process is firstly carried out.And the tempered glass production process can be further understood by the analysis of forming mold.At the same time,the main factors that affect the tempering effect in the process of automotive glass tempering and cooling are discussed.In order to accurately define the mechanical properties of glass,analysis and research on the mechanical properties,thermal properties,and macroscopic temperature-viscosity characteristics of glass materials is conducted.Finally,by taking the actual industrial manufacturing process into considering,a conclusion that the glass can be defined as a viscoelastic solid was put forward.The constitutive model of viscoelastic materials under variable temperature conditions is solved by introducing temperature variables in combination with the structural model of viscoelastic materials under constant temperature.And the mathematical model of automobile glass cooling and hardening stage is established by combining the basic governing equation of fluid flow,the three-dimensional transient temperature field energy equation and the thermodynamics coupling theory.A large general commercial FEM software is used as the simulation platform in this research.Firstly,referring to the experimental data of the paper,the material of automobile glass is defined accurately.Then through simplifying the model,dividing the grid and defining the boundary conditions to carry on the heat fluid-solid coupling,solve the temperature field of the glass in the cooling process,and carry on the thermal coupling with the structure to solve the stress field of the automobile glass.Finally,through the orthogonal test method to analyze the influence of various process parameters on the glass tempering quality,the automobile glass tempering process is optimized,and the reliability of the simulation is proved by the comparison with the actual production results.
