| The focus of economic growth and pollution reduction began in the early 1990 s.As one of the largest developing countries,China experienced sustained high-speed development for more than 30 years. However, with the rapid economic development, there is a deteriorating natural environment. The conflicts and balances among the people have aroused people’s great concern. The delicate relationship between them has also become a hot topic in the research of various disciplines. The Yangtze River Economic Belt is an important member of China’s modern economic development process, and its natural resources and geographical advantages determine its economic and social status. However, the Yangtze River Economic Belt faces the dual pressures of economic growth and pollution reduction. The relationship between the economic development of the economic belt and the degree of environmental pollution has important practical significance for the current and future economic development and sustainable development of China. This paper firstly combed the related theories of economic development and environmental pollution. Then, using the economic and environmental pollution data of nine provinces and two cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt in 2004-2016,they summed up the economic development and environmental pollution in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Second,by establishing an EKC model for regression analysis, the relationship between the economic development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the degree of environmental pollution was explored from the time dimension.Thirdly, using geographic information system(GIS)technology,we mapped the spatial and geographical pollution maps of different pollutants in different years of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and analyzed the changes of pollutants in the provinces and cities of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from the spatial perspective. Finally, according to the results of the previous analysis, the relationship between the economic development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the degree of environmental pollution was summarized and corresponding policy recommendations were put forward. The study found that:(1)In the time dimension, industrial wastewater discharges, industrial sulfur dioxide emissions, and industrial solid waste production in the Yangtze River Economic Belt all show inverted U-shaped curves, while industrial smoke dust emissions show a positive N-type curve, which is not meet the theoretical EKC curve shape.Among them, during the sample period, industrial wastewater discharges decreased year by year with economic growth, from the initial 101.684 million tons/year to 8640.21 million tons/year,a drop of about 15%,environmental pollution improved significantly;industrial sulfur dioxide emissions from In 2004,the 6.83 million tons/year fell to 6.35 million tons/year.Although it increased to 8.28 million tons/year in 2007,it showed fluctuations from the overall sample period.According to EKC curve fitting results, the future is still in the future.Among the declining trends, industrial tobacco dust emissions have shown a clear upward trend after the 2004-2012 downturn, reaching the highest value of 6.66 million tons/year during the sample period, and then began to decline, which is inconsistent with the theoretical EKC.The shape of the curve;the amount of industrial solid waste generated during the sample period has been a clear upward trend,in 2004 to 36.77 million tons / year and by 2016 it was 92.275 million tons / year,an increase of about 150%,obviously visible industrial solid waste The amount of production and economic growth are in a phase of simultaneous growth, and the mode of economic growth is relatively extensive.(2)In the spatial dimension, from the perspective of space pollution maps, industrial waste water emissions, industrial sulfur dioxide emissions, industrial smoke dust emissions, and industrial solid waste production are mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta region in provinces where severe pollution and heavy pollution are present. The urban clusters in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the urban clusters in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River are relatively lightly polluted. The province in which industrial wastewater discharges have been heavily polluted during the sample period is Jiangsu, while Yunnan and Guizhou have consistently shown mild pollution;industrial sulfur dioxide emissions are different from the pollution distribution of industrial wastewater discharges, except for the economic provinces of the Yangtze River Delta.Jiangsu is still at a serious level of pollution. From 2004 to 2010,Sichuan is also a major province of industrial sulfur dioxide emissions;industrial dust pollution in the sample period is the most serious pollution in Sichuan Province,Hunan Province and Jiangsu Province;industrial solid waste production from On the spatial map,the pollution level of the entire Yangtze River Economic Belt is generally more serious.Sichuan,Jiangxi,Yunnan,Anhui, and Jiangsu all show severe pollution.Contrary to the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the middle reaches of the Yangtze River Waste pollution is relatively light. |
