This paper briefly describes the development of coal washing industry in recent years and the working principle and advantages of teetered bed separator.Then it introduces the research status of the teetered bed separator at home and abroad,mainly in three aspects: the basic theory of the separator,the flow field in the separator and existing different types of separating equipment.It plays a guiding role in the research direction and content of this paper.In order to improve the separating effect of the teetered bed separator,the basic theory of separator development and design(settlement theory and similar amplification theory),the distribution law of flow field in the separator,the particle movement in the separator and the optimization of separator structure are studied and explored by three methods: numerical simulation,simulation and laboratory test.Based on the basic theory,the particle movement and flow field distribution in the separator are analyzed,the similarity amplification criterion is established,and the structure optimization type of the teetered bed separator is preliminarily determined.Then,Gambit is used to build the model of the teetered bed separator,mesh and parameter setting.Fluent is used to simulate and calculate the internal flow field and particle movement,and the characteristics of the sub-region and the optimized sorting effect are obtained.On this basis,a laboratory test platform is set up to carry out particle settlement test and structural optimization test of separator.The experimental data are analyzed by using MATLAB mathematical model,and the corresponding calculation formulas are deduced.Then the test data and simulation data are compared and analyzed to verify the reliability of the formulas and summarize the relevant laws of particle settlement.Finally,the structural optimization parameters related to the model and prototype design were calculated.Combining with the above research results,the structure optimization design of feeding type,top water mechanism and tailings discharge type is carried out in order to improve the feeding dispersion,bed stability and upflow uniformity of the teetered bed separator,improve tailings accumulation and blockage of the outlet,so as to achieve better separation effect.This paper takes a new step for the development of teetered bed separator andlays a foundation for the research of other scholars on the mathematical model of teetered bed separator,the simulation of internal flow field of separator and the structural transformation of separator.
