In the long history of Chinese embroidery,painted embroidery is a special artistic product of the combination of embroidery and painting.This article through the overview of painting and embroidery,analysis of painting and embroidery since ancient times with the same root,hierarchy,art form of the common relationship,painting and embroidery to define the scope.Combing the development and evolution of picture embroidery,gu embroidery and su embroidery as important representatives,compare the traditional and modern development of picture embroidery.Traditional and innovative,focusing on the analysis of the traditional embroidery process in the four major factors: subject matter,materials,stitching,form,to explore the traditional and modern innovation possibilities.Traditional painting and embroidery in modern times,to a large extent,is the theme of the expansion,the development of materials,stitching innovation,form of the breakthrough in four directions of evolution.The characteristics of painted embroidery can be used as the expression medium of modern creative language or carrying the author’s idea.Compared to traditional embroidery,the author in the theme,embroider line,embroidered tried innovation breakthrough in material,stitching "old new use needle",form Hui Xiu combination and crossover of art,a large number of "Hui Xiu combination" mode of innovation practice,the work has great disruption,the extension of the embroidered stretched to embroider,to partial art installation path.Through the study of traditional theory and modern practice of painting and embroidery,the author tries to inherit the fine craft form of traditional painting and embroidery,and seek the orientation and value of painting and embroidery with modern aesthetic vision.It is hoped that the study and practice of this paper can activate the study of today’s traditional art and provide a new exploration and practice program.
