Research Of Male Clothing Style’s Evolution On The Cover Of Chinese Fashion Magazines(2005-2014)

The development of Chinese modern and contemporary men’s clothing began in 1980s,and has gone through nearly 40 years.Due to the rise of the clothing industry,the promotion of popular fashion demand and the thirst for the tide information,the fashion magazine industry has sprung up and developed.As the media spokesman of clothing industry,fashion magazine,as circulation property of commodities and the communication function of media,witnessed the evolution of clothing accessories and helped its development.But for the vicissitude of clothing ornaments,the fashion trend can be popular in a short time,but the clothing style should be formed in the alternation of time.In other words,clothing style is a summary of the relative stability of clothing’s evolution.As a kind of implicative dress,the evolution of epidemic of male clothing is not very significant,so the most effective means to clarify the development of male dress design is exploring the evolution of styleTherefore,this article starts with the magazine cover,the most intuitive communication medium in the fashion magazine,and analysis elements of dress image shows in male magazine cover to research the evolution of male clothing style in same background.The specific research methods is:setting the time between 2005 and 2014,selecting Esquire and Men’s uno,which were founded in this period and are issuing continuously,as samples,applying horizontal analysis to analysis the elements of clothing and accessories which are showed in magazine cover according to the different years and summarize these characteristics.Then,using longitudinal analysis to summarize the characteristics of evolution of male clothing,explore its cause of evolution and deduce the trend of style development.On the basis of these researches,this paper tries to clarify the evolution of design of male clothing,and promote the development of Chinese male clothing’s design.
