With the rapid development of today’s society,the people’s living standards have been improved.At the same time,people’s demand for spiritual culture is increasingly urgent.Facing the cultural accumulation of the Chinese nation for more than 5,000 years,how to extract excellent cultural elements from it,create popular cultural products,meet people’s spiritual needs,improve people’s cultural literacy has become an urgent problem to be solved.Piying art,as one of the important components of Chinese traditional folk art,is not only the inheritance of traditional national skills,but also,as a special cultural form,can reflect the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture.The Chinese Piying play was officially selected as the "representative list of human intangible cultural Heritage" in November 2011,which indicates that people began to attach importance to the cultural value of Piying.Piying play,with its fine exaggerated character shape,ups and downs of the storyline and interesting forms of expression,is deeply loved by people all over the world in the international art stage.The spread of Piying play is very extensive,forming a variety of different performance styles,such as Beijing Piying,Tangshan Piying,Longdong Piying and so on,of which Tangshan Piying is one of the most influential species.Tangshan Piying,as one of the most influential types of shadow plays,has high artistic value.Tangshan Piying with its three-dimensional style of planar modeling,unique engraving techniques,rich pattern patterns and distinctive color aesthetic constitute the most colorful one in China’s Jidong culture.It shows the decorative language art and the meaning of rich content.Its shape,pattern,color also have a very important aesthetic value.Starting from the Tangshan Piying,this paper makes a more in-depth study on its production technology,decorative language elements and so on,respectively,from the Tangshan Piying of the general description,decorative language,modern application of the three angles of the Tangshan Piying for a comprehensive analysis.First of all,this paper describes briefly the Tangshan Piying’s historical development,production technology,form of expression,artistic value.Secondly,it expounds the decorative language of Tangshan shadow and introduces its modeling language,pattern patterns and color elements.Finally,on the basis of theory,this paper analyzes the application of Tangshan Piying decorative language art in modern design.With the help of the theoretical knowledge of design art,this paper makes a deep study on the artistic features of Tangshan Piying,analyzes the application and creation of Tangshan Piying art in modern design and further excavates the cultural connotation and spiritual implication of Tangshan shadow.With a view to the purpose of promoting Chinese traditional culture through the research of this thesis,I hope that this paper will provide an effective reference for the creation of Chinese cultural products and make the excellent traditional culture burst out new life vitality in contemporary times.
