With the development of gear measurement,double meshing instruments of low cost,simple structure and high measuring efficiency are able to detect the gear thickness and radial jumping etc.And it can accurately reflect the actual gear meshing situation.It can perfectly complement each other with the single measurement represented by measuring center and form measuring circuit,in order to more accurately grasp the actual situation of gear.This paper based on the original double meshing instrument can carry on the technical renovation and design the automatic gear double meshing instrument.First,this paper introduces the research and development situation of gear meshing principle,and it illustrates the research status at home and abroad of gear double-face meshing instrument.And it states gear meshing theory,the structure of double meshing instrument,the working principle of double meshing instrument and the measuring principle of double meshing instrument.Second,this paper is based on these principles.Compared with the traditional double meshing instrument,the instrument is improved in mechanical,electrical,control systems,data acquisition and software.In terms of mechanical structure,using the rolling mechanism instead of the original sliding mechanism reduces the friction resistance in gear meshing process and increases the sensitivity of the instrument.In electrical aspects,the rotation axis uses servo motor of Leisai L5 series and principal axis adopts stepper motor of Leisai low noise digital DM series.Its advantages includes small volume,light weight and good working performance.In terms of control system,the instrument takes Gugao motion control card as the core unit,adopts position control method and form a double closed-loop automatic control system in order to improve the response speed of system and reduce the static error.In terms of data acquisition,digital grating system with high precision has high resolution and reliable work.These improve the software function.On the software side,standard gear radial runout error can be revised by software of using the standard gear error correction technology.So it can reduce the influence the radial runout error of the standard gear on the measured results,ensure consistency and accuracy of the test results and realize the stability of the hair line group.At the end of the paper,the experiment gauges instrument function and analysis test results.The results prove that the improved instrument owns stable performance,meets the requirements of measurement and achieves the expected goal.
